This year we have been going through a video series by https://www.waynestiles.com/passionweek and really has been so insightful for us as he travels through Israel and the moments that led up to Jesus death and resurrection. Very powerful and awe inspiring. Each year it would seem, the Holy Spirit highlights something new from Jesus death and resurrection. This year it is no different. Yesterday we spent the day with some awesome Godly friends the Elliott family, we spoke so much about Jesus and all he did for us and our children and their children built a Gospel story from what nature had to offer. I love the childlike Faith of children. If you look closely you will see all the elements of the Gospel message , the cross, the crown of thorns , the tomb and the tomb stone that was rolled away. Such precious momments.
Mark 16:7New International Version (NIV)
7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
This year as we spoke as families about Judas and about Peter , I really thought about Peter during the weekend, and hearing the rooster crow on many occasions as a traumatic reminder of his denial, the entire weekend , the agony of denial, the pain of the denial, BUT I simply love what the Angel of the Lord told the ladies at the tomb. Go tell the disciples and who?
Go tell Peter. Not just the disciples but Peter as well. Oh the magnitude of grace and mercy, the heart of Jesus for even those who deny him and go off there own way, Jesus still has a place for them. We have all gone astray at some point, but Jesus resurrection and reinstatement and restoration of Peter fills my heart with joy and and absolute awe. We can all take heart because of Jesus resurrection he can reinstate and restore the lost , this is the Gospel message. We serve an amazing God and king. Have a great Easter Sunday. We are off to the Easter sunrise service with all the churches in our area for the sunrise service on Saint Mikes Beach.
